Images of America:  Candlewood Lake

The opening program of  One Book One Lake celebrated the beautiful lake that joins our five communities of Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford and Sherman. In the 1920′s, when the Connecticut Light and Power Company created Candlewood Lake for the purpose of producing electric power,  the five towns surrounding the lake were forever changed.

Susan Murphy and Gary Smolen, authors of Images of America:  Candlewood Lake, presented their fascinating documentary photomontage of the creation of Candlewood Lake.
